Are you looking for some Japanese Botany and a beautiful waterfall? Well look no further! Tucked away in the heart of Holland Park, Kyoto Garden is a pretty little walkway with koi ponds and vibrant maple trees. The best part? It’s completely free to visit, making it a perfect budget-friendly date idea.

Whilst the Kyoto Garden wouldn’t take up much of your time, it’s the perfect addition to a central London date, whether that be first thing in the morning with a croissant and a coffee or just a mid afternoon stroll with a change of scenery. One thing to keep in mind however, is to avoid peak times like Bank Holidays or midday on a Saturday. Freddie went by himself before we went together and said it was quiet, beautiful and felt like his own little garden. However, when we went together we had to queue just to walk past the waterfall and therefore, whilst we agree it’s definitely worth a visit, be tactical in your timing!

Transport:

Holland Park Station (Central Line)

High Street Kensington Station (Circle and District Lines)

Buses - 31, 94, 148, and 228 all stop nearby.

If you want to extend your date, Holland Park also has rose gardens and a hidden orangery, so on a sunny day, you can really make a day of it!
