If there’s one thing Freddie and I love to do… it’s go for a long walk with a cup of coffee. Therefore if you’re anything like us, this recommendation will be one of our best for a cheap date in London.

South Kensington is arguably the prettiest area of central London with its secret cobbled backstreets, gleaming white townhouses and boutique coffee shops. You do need to stray from the trodden path and steer away from the high street, however once you do you’re sure to find something worth stopping and looking at.

For our “date day,” we started off at the tube and meandered through the houses, eventually ending up near to High Street Kensington station where we got a coffee from Cafe Jumo. This deserves a post in itself because the coffee just was THAT good, the staff were friendly and they had outdoor seating to cater for the sunshine!

One of the best things about heading to South Kensington on a sunny day is that there’s parks and gardens within a 10 minute walk wherever you find yourselves. Although this is weather dependent, the stretch of some of London’s most notorious museums is also five minutes from the station so if the heavens do decide to open, you can nip into the V&A to soak up some renaissance art or explore the Natural History Museum and see the T Rex, (both of these museums are free too!)
